Noises Off - a hilarious farce in 3 acts, by Michael Frayn. Directed by Scott Andrew. The hilarious farce "Noises Off" involves the traditional seven doors, innuendo, liaisons,mixed messages and, unusually, sardines. In theatrical stage directions, the term "noises off" specifies sounds that are meant to be heard from offstage. In his plot for "Noises Off", Frayn plays on the concept of a play within a play, in this case a dreadful sex comedy entitled Nothing On - the type of play in which young girls run about in their underwear, old men drop their trousers, and many doors continually open and shut. The play "Noises Off" shows us the rehearsals and performances of Nothing On. The result is by far the craziest comedy ever to hit the stage.
