DANZ Diary - August 2008

Hello

If you take a look at the DANZ website you’ll see it has a fresh new look. We’ve widened the pages and will be making some other changes over the next few months including a form for you to enter your own events into the DANZ Diary.

New Zealand integrated dance company Touch Compass, who combine dancers with and without a disability, have been invited to perform at the Art of Difference festival in Melbourne in March next year.
For readers of the DANZ Diary, Touch Compass are offering the chance to win two tickets to their 1 October Auckland performance of Harmonious Oddity. Details are at the bottom of this email.

This month, those in Wellington can see Vivek Kinra with Mudra Dance Company perform the classical Indian dance form Bharata-Natyam in Incarnations, Hip Hop crews can compete in the Tear it up competitions, Folk dancers can attend the National camp in Havelock North and Cantabrians can get into swing dance at the Big Band Festival.

There are only eight days left to have your say on the Dance Industry Strategy before we begin working on the final strategy for its launch at Parliament on 9 September. We’ve had some really thought provoking feedback so far, thank you.
