DANZ Moves
NEW ZEALAND DANCE   Nov 09

Kiaora Koutou

We are sailing towards the end of the year and dance activity is showing no sign of slowing down. Thinking forward to 2010 we are already anticipating some excellent dance shows in the International Arts Festival and Wellington and Dunedin Fringe Festivals.

We are closing the consultation on the Action Plan and Blueprint of the NZ Dance Industry Strategy on 30 November. So during November please send us your feedback on any areas within the strategy and let us know about projects you're doing that fit with the strategy. Thank you.

Web page for Pacific Dance

To coincide with the Pacifc Dance Fono , we have created a new page on the DANZ website for Pacific Island Dance in New Zealand. It will be a portal to news, information, events and links on Pacific dance. We will be adding more to this page over the next few months and will also create a page for Maori dance early next year.

Pegasus Dance

Pegasus Dance is a documentary that follows the partnership between the special needs unit at Pakuranga College and Auckland University Dance students as they work together to produce a dance performance in just four weeks. This unique documentary can be viewed on the NZ on Screen website.

Performing Arts Touring

The team that nurtured the development of the CART touring circuit have established a new charitable trust to continue the project. It will produce and promote regional tours, initially in Auckland, to build audiences not only for dance but also theatre and music in venues outside central business districts.

Marketing Dance

Marketing is one of the major ingredients of a successful business or event. We have put together a resource on marketing dance which is a good checklist of things to keep in mind when planning your promotion.
