About Porirua Little Theatre: .was founded in 1950 by Ellinore Ginn and was then known as Titahi Bay Little Theatre. Some of the original members and Committee were Beryl Brown, Dorothy Warburton, Gwennyth Hart, Vivienne Creagh, Nan Young, Mae Phypers, Twink McInnes, Tony Day, Joyce Harmer, Terry Walker, Audrey Hildreth, Alan Gerrie, Doris Cole and Russell Ginn.

In March 1951 with a membership of 60 they staged their first full production of "Hay Fever' by Noel Coward. Membership doubled to over 120 in the first 2 years. The Theatre was formally constituted and incorporated in April 1954. Plays were the thing in the earlier years and then in the 1960's they included Broadway musicals, modern plays and shows directed by local members.

Mission Statement:
Porirua Little Theatre provides opportunities for people to engage in entertainment, through performance, helping in show production, and as audience members. We perform plays, musicals and children's pantomimes and produce a minimum of 3 shows per year. Our members participate on-stage, in production management, as stage crew, and in the technical aspects of shows. Audiences come to our shows from the greater Wellington area, and enjoy our cabaret / BYO format. You'll always have a fun nights entertainment at Porirua Little Theatre.
