Centre City Music Theatre, Auckland CCMT Summer School  International Tutors announced for January 2011
The Tutors have been announced for the next CCMT Summer School and you will NOT want to miss out on this marvellous opportunity to develop your performance skills under the guidance of these exceptional mentors.

Jason Te Mete has been appointed Director of the 2011 school, to be held from January 10th to 22nd next year. He will be working with an international line up of experienced Tutors, listed below, to make this one of the most exciting summer schools ever.

2011 Emerging Talent School -  Monday 10 January - Saturday 22 January 2011

"GO TO THE MIRROR, BOY"

Over an intensive two week period you will attend daily workshops led by professional actors, choreographers, directors, musical directors and specialist practitioners in a wide variety of performance skills under the leadership of School Director, Jason Te Mete.

Over the two week school you will also rehearse for an end of school song and dance showcase presented at an exciting professional venue. This year’s school will expose you to a wide variety of skills related to becoming a strong and confident musical theatre performer.  It will be focused towards 'looking in the mirror' - learning in detail the best and most effective ways to sell yourself to a casting director/employer in auditions for musical theatre.

Classes will include: acting technique, vocal coaching (including musical theatre twang, belt, legit), jazz and contemporary dance, vocal projection, script analysis, stage craft, harmony singing, song presentation and much more.

Focus Intensive Performance Workshop
Senior Workshop Series for school leavers and older
Fun Learning for the Serious Restricted to a maximum of 15 participants, this series of seminars over 2 weekends is strictly for mature students (school leavers and older) and experienced musical theatre or other performers who are either contemplating a career in professional theatre or keenly involved in amateur theatre.

Commencing each weekend on the Friday evening, this workshop series will take participants on a personal journey of discovery and inspiration through a combination of movement, text analysis and breathing exercises designed to lift students to the next level in their career. This workshop series was established by the CCMT Board in 2008 when a number of students from our Emerging Talent School were identified as so talented and devoted to their craft that they intended pursuing a career in the arts and the Board proudly sought theatre professionals to teach this group and others how to maximise their performance abilities and opportunities.

CCMT, with the assistance of our esteemed patron Janice Webb, carefully selects key international professionals to deliver these workshops to ensure that workshop attendees understand and benefit from the latest techniques and developments globally in theatre.

When & Where  The 2011 Focus Senior Workshops will comprise two intensive, closed weekend Friday night to Sunday night) workshops that will be held on the following dates at ACG Senior College, 66 Lorne Street, Auckland.

6pm to 10pm Friday 14 January and 10am to 6.00 pm Saturday and Sunday 16 January 2011; and

6pm to 10pm Friday 21 January and 10am to 6.00 pm Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 January 2011

All applications are considered equally and invitations are forwarded at this time to the applicants by the Board and to those our very special international tutors consider are most likely to gain maximum benefit from attendance at this workshop series. We limit these classes to 15 students so don’t delay - apply now! The fee for this unique CCMT - Focus Intensive Performance Seminar series is $675.00 GST inclusive.

Please Note:
1. The initial deposit of $150.00 should accompany your application. Should we be unable to place you in this workshop series a full refund of your deposit will be made.
2. Once a student’s position in the school has been confirmed, refunds of tuition fees will only be considered in exceptional circumstances as determined by the CCMT Board and will, amongst other criteria, be subject to suitable replacement students being available.
3. Some financial assistance may be available to students or individuals where financial hardship can be demonstrated.
4. CCMT reserves the right to change or cancel specific courses should tutors unexpectedly become ill or unavailable for either the one-day seminars or the weekend workshop series.
